Student leadership

At Lapage Primary School, we provide a wide range of leadership opportunities that empower our pupils to take an active role in shaping their school community. Our Student Leadership Team plays a central role in creating a positive, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere for all students.

Pupils can take on a variety of roles that develop key leadership skills, responsibility, and teamwork. Head Pupils and Prefects lead by example, acting as role models, supporting younger students, and taking on important responsibilities during school events. House Captains lead their house teams with pride, promoting school spirit, collaboration, and our core values of Integrity, Endeavour, Courage, Wisdom, and Liberty.

Other leadership roles provide pupils with opportunities to contribute across the school community. Playleaders support younger children at lunchtimes, organising activities, encouraging good manners, and ensuring that everyone feels included. Our Eco Council enables pupils to take the lead on environmental initiatives, helping to raise awareness and make a positive impact on the local community. School Council representatives give pupils a voice in shaping school policies and activities, ensuring that ideas and concerns are heard and acted upon.

Through these roles, students at Lapage develop valuable skills such as communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and confidence. These experiences not only help pupils grow as leaders but also contribute to making our school a welcoming, caring, and thriving community for everyone.
